The Book Of Life

“Revelation 22:19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Most Christians believe that the book of life contains the names of the believers who have accepted Christ as their Lord and personal saviour and have been baptized by the water and spirit but this is not so. The book of life, is rather a record of the births on earth.

Once you have been born into the world, your name is written in the book of life. In Exodus 32:32 Moses said to God “…blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou has written”. Moses knew about the book of life and what it was meant for because at the time of this statement, he was not “born again”.

But then, God replied to Moses in Exodus 32:33 saying “…whosoever hath sinned against me, him would I blot out of my book”. This means that there are lifestyles and actions that could remove ones name from the book of life.

Therefore, we must live our lives according to God’s will, instructions and guidelines. We must never overlook God in all of our decisions and choices. We must endeavor to be true to Him observing His commandments and keeping His law, thereby ensuring that our names remain in the book of life.
